A Must-Try Wine Pairing
Sometimes we have a great wine but not a great meal to pair it with. Other times we’ve made a delicious meal but we don’t have the right wine that can accompany it. Murphy’s law. But today, we have a wine pairing we’d like to present to you on a silver plate. We chose our Zinfandel Wine from our Maddalena collection to pair with this mouthwatering Goat Cheese and Olive Skillet recipe. Remember to pace your wine drinking while prepping this, so you don’t finish the bottle of Zinfandel wine before the recipe is ready! Or you might want to have a second Maddalena Zinfandel on hand.
3 ounces fontina cheese, ½ cubed
3 ounces chèvre goat cheese
1 teaspoon herbes de Provence
½ cup homemade Stella Rosa Marinara sauce
12 large Greek olives, pitted, rough chopped
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Crumble the goat cheese in large chunks into a 6-inch cast iron skillet. Add fontina cheese to the goat cheese and sprinkle in herbs. Spoon the Stella Rosa marinara sauce over the cheeses. Scatter the olives over the sauce and drizzle with olive oil. Broil the dish for 2-3 minutes or until sauce is hot and the cheese is melted. You may also choose to bake on the top shelf for about 12 minutes or until bubbly.
Once you’ve reached this step, it’s time to get that Zinfandel Wine out of the cellar. Enjoy how the flavors of this Italian dish blend with this Italian family’s wine.
Now you’re at the top of your game!
